Val-d\u2019Or, November 23, 2018 \u2014The Board of Directors of SOQUEM, a subsidiary of Ressources Qu\u00e9bec, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr.\u00a0Michel Gilbert as Interim President and CEO. Mr.\u00a0Gilbert was appointed following Mr.\u00a0Olivier Grondin\u2019s departure. The latter had served as President and CEO of SOQUEM since June 30, 2016, and he left the company on October\u00a026,\u00a02018.<\/p>\n
Mr. Gilbert holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in geological engineering and a master\u2019s degree in applied sciences from the \u00c9cole Polytechnique de Montr\u00e9al. He is currently a lecturer in applied management for the mining industry at the Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec en Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue and is the director of a private firm operating in the mining exploration industry. Mr.\u00a0Gilbert is a member of the Ordre des ing\u00e9nieurs du Qu\u00e9bec and has nearly 30 years of experience in mine exploration and development, having worked in Quebec and Mexico for Aurizon Mines and Cambior. He was chairman of Ressources Cartier\u2019s board of directors, the director of CONSOREM, and he also served as a director for numerous non-profit organizations. Ressources Qu\u00e9bec is a subsidiary of Investissement Qu\u00e9bec that consolidates government equity stakes in the natural resources sector\u2014including mining exploration\u2014through its own subsidiary: SOQUEM.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
